CHROMATIC SAPHHIRES
16 NEW PIECES

Repossi is pleased to unveil a new chapter of the Chromatic Sapphires collection, showcasing 16 new pieces. In 2022, Maison Repossi presented its first Chromatic Sapphires collection for the first time, celebrating its partnership with Moyo Gems and promoting inclusion, diversity, and the invaluable work of women gem miners in Tanzania. Since the launch, 64 exceptional pieces have been created, showcasing the artistry and dedication behind this unique collection.

“The challenge for all the jewelers on the Place Vendôme in Paris is to find the most interesting stones, those that best meet their set of specifications,” said Anne de Vergeron, Chief Executive Officer of Repossi. Each piece of jewelry is meticulously handcrafted to enhance the exquisite beauty of Maison’s gemstones.

For this exclusive collection, Repossi has inverted the selection process paradigm, regrouping the magnificent sapphires from the Umba Valley in Tanzania by women  who unearthed them. Originally selected for their pear shape, these sapphires, now in emerald, pear, oval, and cushion cuts, have been assembled this year to honor five women miners who discovered them.

The unique characteristic of the sapphires from this region is their ability to change colors depending on light exposure, ranging from pink to light green. Colored sapphires are enhanced by the Maison’s creative process through the iconic Serti sur Vide designs. Their unique monochrome pastel shades of orange, pink, purple, and gray-green are set creating the illusion that the stones are floating, a forerunner way to wear diamonds, rooted in the Serti sur Vide DNA.

When Repossi was introduced to Moyo Gems, a responsible miner-to-market gemstone initiative born in East Africa, the idea of this partnership naturally flourished. It aligns perfectly with the ever-growing demand for transparency and responsibility, offering a new model of ethical jewelry for the entire industry. In collaboration with Moyo Gems, Repossi has empowered female artisanal gem miners in Tanzania, significantly increasing their incomes and improving their financial security. The Moyo Gems program, developed in partnership with TAWOMA (Tanzanian Women Miners’ Association) and Pact, aims to create stable, equitable markets for fair trade gemstones.

Commitment to sustainability and sisterhood are values treasured by Repossi. It was important for the Maison to use its brand awareness to serve women’s visibility in the gemstone industry.

"We have created these pieces to render homage to the women who found them. Each of these pieces represents the work of women in Tanzania who unearthed it," stated Anne de Vergeron.
From rings to earrings, the new collection offers 16 unique pieces in the Maison’s iconic pink and white gold.
